Creation / Termination of right

All persons who meet and maintain the requirements for entitlement will be guaranteed medical assistance in Spain, at public expense, through the National Health System, which will be provided by the competent health administrations by means of the issue of an individual health card.

The termination of the right shall occur for the following reasons:

• When any of the requirements that determined the recognition of the right are no longer met.
• Due to death.

Likewise, those who cease to maintain the relationship of affectivity, reach the age limit, cease to meet the residency requirements or become workers or recipients of a pension or other periodic benefit from any Social Security scheme, without prejudice to the possibility of acquiring the right in their own right, shall lose their status as beneficiaries of other entitled persons for the purposes of the pharmaceutical contribution.
