Accessibility
The "Social Security Classroom" website is committed to guaranteeing accessibility to all citizens, in compliance with the Service Law for the Information Society and Electronic Commerce, which affects the websites of all Public Administrations.
Therefore, the pages have been developed following the accessibility guidelines for the material, provided by the WAI created by the W3C, to inform, research and promote the work in web accessibility.
The WAI has established three accessibility levels: "A", double "A" and triple "A." Each level is reached after meeting certain guidelines or principles.
In the case of the "Social Security Classroom", reaching level "AA" of accessibility has been set as an objective and, to ensure these levels of compliance with accessibility criteria, the pages were checked with the program TAW.
Some of the characteristics implemented to facilitate accessibility are the following:
- A clear page structure has been created, defining the headers, lists, comprehension elements, etc. which facilitate access to the material with screen readers.
- The code used complies with the formal grammar for the correct interpretation and display of content in different browsers.
- The sources of text have been defined with relative units, which let the user increase or reduce their size from the browser options.
- In addition, the font types, font colours and background colours, etc. have been defined by CSS, so the user can define their visual preferences.
