Students in receipt of allowances or benefits

What would happen if the person has a job while completing an internship and they experience an accident during the internship?

In this case, if the injuries resulting from the accident prevent them from working, a situation of temporary disability for common contingencies would be generated (since the accident occurred while doing the internship, not while working as an employee). The financial benefit would have to be paid, in line with the general rules, by the company at which they work (not the company at which they complete their internship, as if working at the same time as being on an internship, the person in question is not included in the scope of application of the Additional Provision 52 LGSS). In this case, the receipt of the financial benefit for temporary disability would be compatible with the internship.

What would happen if a person doing the unpaid internship for which they are registered were to have an accident during the internship?

In this case, if the person doing the internship is unable to continue, a situation of temporary disability due to professional contingencies would be generated. The financial benefit would have to be paid by the person considered the employer pursuant to the provisions of Additional Provision 52 LGSS.
