Social Security offers a telephone service that enables you to send information and carry out various processes over the phone, eliminating the need to visit the office. It is committed to making sure your questions are answered, providing the information and details requested as quickly as possible and maintaining confidentiality.
In order to maintain the confidentiality of your information, all reports and related documents will only be sent to the name and address that we have on our files.
To help us deal with your query more easily, please have the necessary documentation to hand: DNI (National Identity Document), NAF (Registration Number), CCC (Contribution Account Code) etc.
- This is a common telephone number for the entire national territory, offering direct and personalised attention from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. uninterruptedly.

Information relating to the requirements, applications, documents, procedure and formalities necessary for accessing or maintaining the benefits of the Social Security system, as well as the applicable regulations in different cases.

Guidance and help regarding use of electronic services available at the Electronic Headquarters and the Social Security website.

Specific and particularised information on the processing of files and on the benefits recognised: decision, first payments, revaluation, minimum supplement, incompatibilities and concurrence of pensions, variations and modifications and amounts.
- Through this service, you can apply for a European Health Card which will be sent by post to the address on file with the Social Security.

In addition, information is provided on any Social Security issue related to the management entrusted to the National Social Security Institute.
- Calls may be recorded for quality and security reasons. Rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition may be directed to the General Secretariat of the National Social Security Institute, Padre Damián, 4-6, 28036 Madrid.

- This is an automatic appointment management telephone number for procedures related to pensions and other economic benefits from the Social Security.
- With this service, which is open non-stop from 00:00 to 24:00 hours, from Monday to Sunday, you will be able to obtain an appointment at the CAISS (Social Security information and assistance centres).
- To get an appointment, you have to respond verbally or press the telephone keys following the instructions given at each step of the dialogue.
- The automatic system will ask for the procedure for which you wish to make an appointment, the postcode to locate the nearest office and the DNI or NIEnumber.
- The system will then offer you the first available appointment and if you agree, you will be asked to confirm it. If you do not agree, you can exchange it for a later one.
- Once the appointment has been made, the system will provide you with a locator.
- You can delete an appointment with your DNI/NIE and the locator in the appointment service.
- Recommendations for the use of this service: a noisy environment makes it difficult to understand the system.
This telephone number is available from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (except public holidays).

- Information relating to the requirements, applications, documents, procedure and formalities necessary for accessing or maintaining benefits, as well as applicable regulations for various situations.
- Guidance and help regarding use of electronic services, related to the IMV, available at the Electronic Headquarters and the Social Security website.
- Specific and individualised information on the processing of files and on recognised IMV benefits: from the moment of resolution, including all variations and modifications that may occur during the period in which the service remains in force and the procedures and notices associated with its maintenance .
