The Social Marine Institute (ISM) for the fulfilment of the Conventions of the International Labour Organization and other applicable regulations, as well as the purposes entrusted to it, has a Network of Centres, equipped with computer terminals mainly located in the Sea Houses on the coast, in accordance with that established in the organisational structure of the ISM.
The network of ISM Centres has as its purpose, among others, the management of employment (in the Autonomous Communities of Madrid and the Canary Islands, as well as in the Autonomous Cities of Ceuta and Melilla) and unemployment of workers included in the Social Security Special Scheme for Seafarers, acting in coordination with the Public Service of State Employment.
