Social Security offers a telephone service that enables you to send information and carry out various processes over the phone, eliminating the need to visit the office. It is committed to making sure your questions are answered, providing the information and details requested as quickly as possible and maintaining confidentiality.

In order to maintain the confidentiality of your information, all reports and related documents will only be sent to the name and address that we have on our files.

To help us deal with your query more easily, please have the necessary documentation to hand: DNI (National Identity Document), NAF (Registration Number), CCC (Contribution Account Code) etc.

  • This is a common telephone number for the entire national territory, offering direct and personalised attention from Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. uninterruptedly.
  • This specialised support and information service provides:

    • Information relating to the requirements, applications, documents, procedure and formalities necessary for accessing or maintaining the benefits of the Social Security system, as well as the applicable regulations in different cases.

    • Guidance and help regarding use of electronic services available at the Electronic Headquarters and the Social Security website.

    • Specific and particularised information on the processing of files and on the benefits recognised: decision, first payments, revaluation, minimum supplement, incompatibilities and concurrence of pensions, variations and modifications and amounts.

    • Through this service, you can apply for a European Health Card which will be sent by post to the address on file with the Social Security.
    • In addition, information is provided on any Social Security issue related to the management entrusted to the National Social Security Institute.

    • Calls may be recorded for quality and security reasons. Rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition may be directed to the General Secretariat of the National Social Security Institute, Padre Damián, 4-6, 28036 Madrid.

This helpline will be available from Monday to Thursday between 09:00 and 18:00. Fridays between 9:00 h and 14:30. Except public holidays.

It provides information on the following areas:

Option 1 RED Authorised person
1.1 Company enquiry Enquiries related to company registration, liquidation and updates.
1.2 Self-employed Workers/Domestic Employees Consultations related to self-employed workers and domestic employees.
1.3 Authorised RED Procedure For any other type of information, inquiry or problem in the management of the RED system.
1.4 Software Installation For queries or incidents arising from the installation of the Software.
1.5 Electronic Headquarters, Notifications and Powers of Attorney To request information related to the Authorised Network and the services in the E-Office.
1.6 National Social Security Institute IT Parts For problems with temporary disability medical certificates in the RED System or the Direct Settlement System that correspond to the National Social Security Institute.

900 20 22 22 22*** free information line on the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) benefit (National Social Security Institute)

This is a free telephone number for the user, available to all national territory, which offers general and personalised information on specific questions about the Minimum Vital Income (IMV) benefits, available from Monday to Friday (except public holidays), and from 9:00 to 14:30 hours.

This specialised IMV support and information service provides:

  • Information relating to the requirements, applications, documents, procedure and formalities necessary for accessing or maintaining benefits, as well as applicable regulations for various situations.
  • Guidance and help regarding use of electronic services, related to the IMV, available at the Electronic Headquarters and the Social Security website.
  • Specific and individualised information on the processing of files and on recognised IMV benefits: from the moment of resolution, including all variations and modifications that may occur during the period in which the service remains in force and the procedures and notices associated with its maintenance .
  • Calls may be recorded for quality and security reasons. Rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition may be directed to the General Secretariat of the National Social Security Institute, Padre Damián, 4-6, 28036 Madrid.
