Application for Benefits

To submit applications for benefits, as well as to obtain information, the interested party must contact the Authorised Institution or Liaison Body of the State Party in which they reside. The presentation date of the application to the Authorised Institution or Liaison Body of the country of residence shall be considered as the date of submission of the application to the Authorised Institution of the State Party concerned, provided that insurance periods in that State are claimed or can be deduced from the documentation submitted. In respect of old age pensions, the application shall not be deemed to have been submitted in those States Parties in which the age of entitlement is not attained or in respect of which it has been expressly stated that it is desired to defer its effects.

If the person concerned or their originators are resident in a third country, they shall address their application to the Authorised Institution or Liaison Body of the State Party under whose legislation they were last insured.

In Bolivia:

  • Long-Term Social Security Management.

In Brazil:

  • The National Social Security Institute

In Chile:

Pension Fund Administrators, for members of the Pension System based on individual funding.
  • The Instituto de Previsión Social (Social Security Institute), for members of the pension schemes administered by it.

In Colombia:

  • Ministry of Labour.

In Ecuador:

  • The Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security

In El Salvador:

  • El Salvador's Pensions Supervising Authority.

In Paraguay:

  • The Social Security Institute (IPS).
  • The Retirement and Pension Fund of the Ministry of Finance.
  • The Retirement and Pension Fund of the National Electricity Administration (ANDE).
  • The Paraguayan Retirement and Pensions Fund for Itaipu Binational Staff.
  • The Retirement and Pensions Fund for Members of the Legislative Branch.
