Compensación Económica para las Víctimas del Amianto

On 18 June, Royal Decree 483/2025 was published, which establishes the requirements and regulates the procedure for recognising the right to financial compensation for asbestos victims. This measure is an important step in the protection of those affected by exposure to this material.

As of 18 September, pensioners with permanent disability in any of its degrees, derived from an occupational contingency caused by any of the pathologies listed in Annex II of the decree, will be able to apply for financial compensation. This compensation is specifically aimed at those whose disability has been caused by exposure to asbestos.

Other cases of compensation shall be subject to the effects determined by successive general State budget laws.
