It is the public system for the recognition and payment of pensions to civil servants and their dependants who have made contributions throughout their working lives to the State Civil Service Pension Scheme, via deductions made from the “Civil Service Pension Contribution”.
The necessary information and the amounts of the contributions, broken down by contribution group and year, can be found in the section ”Contributions and Liabilities”.
Since 1 January 2011, newly recruited civil servants have been automatically enrolled in and contribute to the Social Security General Scheme, which is the scheme through which they will accrue entitlement to their retirement pension and to those of their dependants.

With effect from 6 October 2020, the State Pension Scheme forms part of the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration following the provisional integration of the Sub-Directorate-General for Civil Service Pension Management into the Directorate-General for Social Security Organisation.

The services provided by the State Civil Service Pension Management Scheme continue to be delivered through the Provincial Offices of Economy and Finance.
