Special Agreement for Training Application Procedure. Royal Decree 1493/2011 of 24 October.

General information

Purpose:

The purpose of this special agreement is assimilation to active contributor status over a maximum period of 24 months.

Beneficiaries:

  • People who prior to the entry into force of the Royal Decree had taken part in training programmes linked to university studies, or professional training programmes involving paid work experience.
  • People who were participating in training programmes linked to university studies or professional training programmes with paid internships at the time when the Royal Decree took effect.
  • People who had taken part in research training programmes, as long as this participation took place prior to 4 November 2003.
Form:

Form TA-0040 Training

Documentation:

A certificate issued by the bodies or organisations that fund the training programmes, or any other legally valid means of proof if it is not possible to get hold of this certificate.

Where to process it:

At the Provincial or Administrative Offices of the Social Security Treasury General. If you have a digital certificate you can access the e-Office and submit the application form and required documentation online through the Special Agreements Registration process in the Social Security e-Office.

Deadlines:

Applications may be submitted between 01/11/2011 and 31/12/2014.

Effective:

Training periods completed prior to 01/11/2011 and up to a maximum of two years will be recognised as having assimilated contributor status.

Requirements:

Proof from the applicant of having taken part in training programmes through a certificate issued by the funding bodies or organisations. This certificate must state that the training programme meets the necessary requirements, as well as the duration of the programme.

In the event that the programmes are jointly funded by one or more bodies or organisations, the aforementioned certificate must be issued by the organisation that is responsible for paying the respective financial compensation.

Filing the application within the appropriate periods.

Termination:

The agreement shall expire in any of the following circumstances:

  • Due to the death of the interested party.
  • Due to a decision by the interested party notified in writing to the Treasury General of the Social Security.
  • Failure to make payments for three consecutive or five alternative months.
