The transfer of personal data by Social Security is governed by Organic Law 15/1999, of 13 December, on Personal Data Protection, which sets out in section 1 of article 11, on data communication, that personal data for processing can only be communicated to a third party for the fulfilment of aims related to the legitimate functions of the transferor and the transferee, with the prior consent of the interested party. This consent is not necessary in accordance with the provisions in section 2.a) of article 11 of the aforementioned Organic Law, amongst other cases, when the transfer is authorised in an act.

In this respect, the General Social Security Act, reworded by Royal Legislative Decree 1/1994, of the 20 of June, sets out in its article 66.1,on data backup, that data, reports or records obtained by the Social Security Office during the year while carrying out its functions are of a confidential nature and can only be used for the purposes entrusted to the different Social Security Management Entities and Common Services, without it being possible for such data to be transferred or communicated to third parties, unless the transfer or communication aims to fulfil a series of objectives provided for in the aforementioned regulation.

Requesting different statistical data to that which appears published on the website requires a specific statistical data transfer service. Occasionally these requests lead to a specific job being carried out, with the resulting diversion in human and material resources. For this reason, these requests are dealt with individually and by carrying out a specific study for each request, addressed to the technical office of the TGSS which will assess and then process it if it considers it appropriate. You can request this by sending a fax to 91 503 8700 or by ordinary post to the following address: TGSS. Gabinete técnico. Calle Astros 5 y 7 , 28007 Madrid.
