After receiving your Working Life Report, return to this page and read the following information:
These explanatory notes can also be obtained in PDF
Working Life Reports contain information about the individual's affiliation and termination from the various Social Security Schemes. The situations that are included in the report count toward being considered for at least one of the contributory benefits of the Social Security System. Therefore, not all of the situations included in the Working Life Report necessarily count toward all the contributory economic benefits from the System. This is something that must be decided by the competent Managing Body when processing the application for the benefit..
Below is an explanation of some concepts and terminology used in the Working Life Report to help you to understand its contents. Not all of the concepts listed will necessarily appear on your Report since some of them are specific to particular Schemes or specific situations.
Identifies the Scheme for the corresponding period. Can be one or more of the following: GENERAL Scheme, Special Regime for SELF-EMPLOYED Workers, Special AGRICULTURAL Scheme, Special Scheme for SEA Workers, Special COAL MINING Scheme, Special Scheme for DOMESTIC Employees. Within the GENERAL Scheme there are also separate groups for SALES REPRESENTATIVES and the SPECIAL SCHEME FOR FRUIT, VEGETABLES AND CANNED VEGETABLES.
The Contribution Account Code or the registration number used to identify the employer in a particular Social Security Scheme, plus the name of the company or organisation to which the contribution code belongs.
A different situation from providing services or carrying out an activity that determines the Social Security Scheme to which you belong. It has an effect on each of the benefits, contingencies and conditions that are listed in the General Regulations on the registration of companies and registration, affiliation, termination and information changes of workers, which were approved as Royal Decree 84/1996 of 26 January and in the other regulations governing them.
The date when the services began or work started, or the start of the situation assimilated to affiliation.
The date from which the affiliation becomes effective and gives entitlement to benefits from the Social Security System, except for benefits due to work-related accidents and occupational diseases, unemployment and health care due to common illnesses, maternity and non-work-related accidents, in which case the effective date of affiliation is the date of affiliation.
The date when the provision of services ended or work stopped, or the end of the situation assimilated to affiliation.
Code identifying the type of employment contract (*) for Social Security management purposes. The codes currently in force are those listed on the back of this document.
(*) If a worker has had more than one employment contract during each period, only the last of these will appear on the working life report.
On a part-time employment contract, the coefficient, which is expressed as a percentage, refers to the percentage of the full-time working day set out in the applicable Collective Agreement or, if there is none, of the normal maximum legal working day that the worker works or has worked. (*)
(*) If a worker has had more than one percentage of the normal working day of the company during each period, only the last of these will appear on the working life report.
The group in the occupational classification in which the worker is included (*). The current contribution groups are those listed on the back of this document.
(*) If a worker has had more than one contribution group during each period, only the last of these will appear on the working life report.
The number of days between the EFFECTIVE AFFILIATION DATE and the TERMINATION DATE. When the individual is still affiliated, the number of days is calculated between the EFFECTIVE AFFILIATION DATE and the DATE THE REPORT IS ISSUED, which are on the document that was submitted to the General Sub-Directorate.
The percentage of the normal working day of the company is applied to the number resulting from the difference between the EFFECTIVE AFFILIATION DATE and the TERMINATION DATE. If a worker has had working days of various lengths during a particular period, all of them are taken into account when calculating the number of days. The calculation of the number of days when affiliation is linked to a part-time contract is only provisional. The final calculation of the theoretical number of contribution days will be made using the number of normal and overtime hours that were actually worked. This calculation will be made when an application is made for an economic benefit from the Social Security System. In all cases, for retirement and permanent disabilities benefits, the multiplying coefficient of 1.5 is applied to the number of days the individual has been affiliated.
In this special scheme, the number of days the individual is affiliated only count toward the economic benefit for permanent disability due to common contingencies.
If the report includes information on the FULL-TIME COEFFICIENT, DAYS WORKED and/or DAYS WHEN THE FULL-TIME COEFFICIENT DOES NOT APPLY, the number of days the individual is affiliated are calculated by multiplying the DAYS WORKED by the FULL-TIME COEFFICIENT and adding the result to the number of DAYS WHEN THE FULL-TIME COEFFICIENT DOES NOT APPLY.
Being affiliated at the same time to two or more Schemes other than the system mentioned - multiple activities- if one of the companies is in the Special System for Fruits, Vegetables and Canned Vegetables prevents the Social Security from deciding whether any days should be subtracted from the number of days calculated because there are superimposed contribution periods. The final calculation will be made when an application is made for an economic benefit from the Social Security System.
