Death Grant
| Purpose: |
Aid to cover burial expenses. |

| Beneficiaries: |
Those who have paid the burial expenses. Unless otherwise proven, they are:

| Originator: |
A deceased person whose death originates the right to the benefit. |
| Requirements: |
Being affiliated or in a situation similar to affiliation in the Social Security, or receiving a subsidy for temporary disability, for risk during pregnancy or for maternity or paternity, or being a pensioner with a permanent disability or contributory retirement. |
| Amount: |
42,09 euros. |

Application for a Death Grant |
| Documentation: |
The documents listed on the application form. |
| Where to process it: |
At a Social Security Support and Information Centre or an office of the Marine Social Institute , for sea workers. |
| Competent entity: |
The right to the pension is granted by the National Social Security Institute (INSS) or by the Social Marine Institute (ISM) in the case of sea workers. When the death is due to work-related injury, at the Mutual Society for Work-related Injury and Occupational Disease. |
| Other important information: |
The right to receive the death grant expires after 5 years. |
