With legal effects as of 1 January 2012, the Special Scheme for Domestic Employees has been integrated into the General Scheme of the Social Security, through the creation of the Special System for Domestic Employees, in accordance with the 39th Additional Provision of the Law 27/2011 of 1 August (BOE of the 2nd) on the Updating, Adaptation and Modernisation of the Social Security System.

Therefore, employers for whom workers carry out domestic tasks must submit at any Social Security Administrative Office or using Electronic Registration, forms |TA 6 or TA 7 to apply for a Contribution Account Code –CAC- in the Special System for Domestic Employees in the General Scheme and form TA 2/S- 0138 to request acquisition or termination of active contributor status for employees.

For a transitional period, which runs from 1 January 2012 up to 30 June 2012, employers who have workers with active contributor status must inform the General Treasury of the Social Security of the necessary details to open a CAC and process the active contributor status of workers at their service in the new Special System for Domestic Employees. The new TA-DOMESTIC form has been created for performing these tasks.
