Non-professional former combatants of the Republic’s Armed Forces and Institutions
Originators
Those who served the Republic during the 1936–1939 Civil War in the Armed Forces, having attained a post or military rank of at least non-commissioned officer, as well as those who were members of the Public Order Forces or the Carabineros, during the specified period. All of this provided that they were not classified as military civil servants (professionals) prior to 1 April 1939.
Beneficiaries
- The originators themselves.
- Widowed spouses, former spouses or civil partners, and orphans under the age of 21 or those over that age who have been unable to work at all since before reaching that age or since the death of the deceased, provided they meet the requirements laid down in the legislation on civil service pensions applicable in each case
Amount of the pensions
- In favour of the originators:
The amount of the pension is equivalent to 100 per cent of the pension – excluding service increments – applicable to similar military posts for personnel classified as professional for the purposes of Title I of Law 37/1984.
The amount of pensions payable to the beneficiaries of deceased persons may not be less than the minimum amount established by the Social Security System for retirement pensions, where the beneficiary has a dependent spouse and is over 65 years of age; an amount which, for 2025 is set at €1,127.60 per month.

In favour of family members:
The amount of the widows’ and orphans’ pensions is 50 per cent and 20 per cent, respectively, of the amount that would have been payable to the deceased.
The amount of widows’ pensions may not be less than the minimum amount established under the Social Security System for widows’ pensions for those aged 65 and over; this amount in 2025 is set at €874.40 per month.
If there is no widows’ pension, the orphans’ pension is increased by the amount of the widows’ pension.
Professional Military Personnel of the Armed Forces and Military Academies of the Republic
Originators
Members of the Armed Forces and Military Academies who, as military officers, served the Second Republic during the Civil War of 1936–1939.
Beneficiaries
- The originators themselves.
- Widowed spouses, former spouses or civil partners, and orphans under the age of 21 or those over that age who have been unable to work at all since before reaching that age or since the death of the originator, provided they meet the requirements laid down in the civil service pension legislation applicable in each case.
Pension amount
The amount of the pensions shall be determined in accordance with the originator’s position and recognised length of service, in accordance with the Civil Service Regulations in force on 31 December 1984 for military personnel.
