In compliance with Convention Number (|No.)  23, revised by Convention (|No. ) 166 of the International Labour Organization on the repatriation of seafarers, which sets out the additional obligations of states, the Social Marine Institute provides services for sea workers who require  social repatriation, and welfare to national or foreign non-residents, who as a result of shipwreck, accident, or any other cause, arrive in Spanish national territory.
