Coming into force

The Social Security Agreement between the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Colombia was signed on 6 September 2005 and entered into force on 1 March 2008.

It was published in the Official State Gazette on 03 March 2008.

However, as of 1 August 2023, the Republic of Colombia applies the Convenio Multilateral Iberoamericano de Seguridad Social (CMISS), and therefore, by virtue of Article 8, only the provisions of the Bilateral Convention that are more favourable to the person concerned shall apply.
