Digital certificates

1. What should I do if I need to get an electronic certificate or my certificate expired after 14 March?

We inform you that certification authorities are considering the possibility of telematic renewal of certificates that expired after 14 March and the use of non-face registration media, based on video identification.  This would remove any obligation to make a physical appearance at an office in order to obtain the certificate or renew an expired one. Go to the accepted certification authorities web page.
The FNMT allows the online renewal of natural person certificates that have expired since 14 March.

2. My digital certificate expires soon, what should I do?

Under Royal Decree 463/2020, of 14 March, certifying entities are removing the restriction requiring a physical appearance every 5 years in order to renew a certificate, and are allowing it to be renewed online.
Check the website of your certification authority and renew it before it expires to continue accessing Social Security's electronic services without any problems.
