Additional resolution ten of Law 20/2007 on the Self-Employed Workers' Statute states that self-employed workers can contract their children who are under 30 years of age as workers employed by another person, even if they live with them. In these cases, the scope of the protective action given to the contracted family members will not include coverage for unemployment.

This new exemption from unemployment for the children under 30 years of age of self-employed workers applies to the payment of contributions due starting from the November/07 collection period.

A future edition of the RED  News Bulletin will list the changes to be made to Affiliation (AFI) and Contribution (FAN) files, in order to apply this unemployment exemption. Up to now, if you were to go ahead with the application for this benefit, it would have to be processed using an application for return of contributions.
