Procedure in the special agreement for high-level athletes

General Information


Purpose:

The purpose of this special agreement is coverage for Retirement, Permanent Disability, Death and Survival, Social Services, and Medical Assistance arising from common contingencies

Beneficiaries:

High-level athletes, over eighteen years of age, who, as a result of their sporting activity or any other professional activity they conduct, are not already included within any of the Social Security System Schemes.

Form:

Form TA-0040

Documentation:
  • Of the National Identification Document, Foreign Citizen Card or Passport, as applicable.
  • Providing proof of being a high-level athlete.
Where to process it:

At the Provincial or Administrative Offices of the Social Security General Treasury corresponding to the domicile of the applicant. If you have a digital certificate you can access the e-Office and submit the application form and required documentation online using the Special Agreement Registration process.

Deadlines:

Within 90 calendar days following the publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of the list where s/he is included as a high-level athlete.

Effective:

It is effective from the first day of the month in which s/he has acquired the status of high-level athlete.

  • Over 18 years of age.
  • Recognised status as top-level athlete.

Termination:

Reasons for expiry:

  • When the interested party acquires the status of pensioner due to retirement or permanent disability.
  • When the interested party is included within the field of application of any Social Security Scheme.
  • Failure to make payments for three consecutive or five alternative months.
  • Due to the death of the interested party.
  • Decision by the interested party, duly reported to the Social Security Treasury General.
