WORMS
Intestinal parasites usually enter the body either through eating raw or rare infected fish or meat, or contaminated fruits or vegetables.
The presence of worms (pinworm) may manifest itself as severe irritation around the anus, together with severe itching, especially noticeable at night. This is due to the fact that the females (up to 1 cm., as white threads) move towards the anus to lay the eggs, not only contaminating the anal area, but also clothes and bed linen. In other cases, and according to the kind of parasite, the first sign is finding a worm in the faeces (ascaris), similar to an earthworm, together with vague abdominal pain.

Treatment is made with mebendazole (DRAWER 8, first aid kits A and B), according to MEDICAL ADVICE VIA RADIO .
