URINE TESTS

The first aid kit has urine reagent sticks (DRAWER 11, first aid kit A), which should be used under medical advice.

Procedure

• Carry out all measures against infection as Anteriorly referred to: washing hands, wearing disposable gloves (in this case, it suffices to use disposable non sterile gloves, DRAWER 14, first aid kit A).
• Before collecting the urine, the patient must wash his penis with water and soap. Pull back the prepuce of the penis in the male or open the labium majus pudenda in the female, so that urine comes out freely from the urethra.
• Discard the first part of the micturition.
• Collect the urine in a sterile pot for urine samples (DRAWER 11, first aid kit A).
• Dip the reagent stick fully in the urine for a few seconds (see picture 6-35). Let the stick drip when taking it out and place it horizontally (see picture 6-36).
• Read the results according to the instructions shown on the test.
