MISCARRIAGE
The usual time of a miscarriage is at around 12 weeks into the pregnancy (the third missed menstruation).
If a miscarriage begins, the mother will experience abdominal contractions, light vaginal haemorrhaging and pains similar to those of normal menstruation. Ask for MEDICAL ADVICE VIA RADIO .
In the majority of cases the symptoms will not cease and the miscarriage becomes inevitable, with increasing pain and haemorrhaging. In either case, the patient should remain in bed under strict observation (arterial pressure and pulse must be kept along with a temperature chart, with readings made every half an hour). All pillows should be removed and the patient kept totally horizontal in the bed. All expelled blood should be examined for clots and solid matter that will indicate that the miscarriage has taken place.
