The financial benefit for temporary disability aims to cover the loss of earnings that occurs when the worker, due to an illness or accident, is temporarily unable to work and requires medical care from the Social Security.

This economic benefit is included under the protective aspects of the General Scheme and the Social Securitys special schemes.
