Certificates issued by the Social Security
SILCON Certificate
For company representatives to update and view information, specifically on the RED System.
To obtain this certificate from the Social Security, follow this procedure:
- You should attend a Digital Certificate Office in person with your DNI, passport or NIE, if you are a foreign citizen.

The registrar will take down the information needed to register you:
- Full name, NIF.
- Address.
- Telephone number, fax, e-mail address.

After the information has been checked to make sure it is correct, the interested party will be given two copies of the contract, which he or she must sign after checking that they are correctly filled out with his or her personal information. One copy is for the user and the other for the registration office files.

Together with a copy of the contract, the user will receive a disk containing the certificate and an envelope with a sheet of paper with the eight characters of the password for the certificate printed on it.

Each time that the user accesses services of the RED System, Mutual Societies for Work-Related Injuries, Public Health Centres and Cervantes Institutes, a screen will appear asking the user for:
- the .epf file, which is on the certificate disk that was sent.
- the password for the certificate.

Civil Service Certificates - ACGISS
For automated Social Security processing and identification, and to enable electronic processing of its public employees, the Certification Authority of the Social Security IT Management (ACGISS) issues digital certificates included in the scope of Law 11/2007 on Citizens' Electronic Access to Public Services.
These certificates are only issued internally within the Social Security and are therefore not intended for the general public.
The certificates issued by the ACGISS for the Civil Service are recognised certificates in accordance with the provisions of Law 59/2003 on Electronic Signing and are registered as such in the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.
User Certificate (Class 2 CA from the FNMT)
For citizens to have access to most of the services offered by the Social Security. To download this certificate, which is provided by the National Mint and Stamp Factory, follow this procedure.
