Information Technology Management for the Social Security
What is the Social Security IT Management service?
It is a Common Service of the Social Security with no legal personality and at the organisational level of General Sub-Directorate, it is attached to the Secretary of State for Social Security and is operationally subordinate to the General Directorate for Planning for the Social Security, each Social Security Managing Body, the Social Security Public Accounts Department and the Treasury General of the Social Security, regarding the programmes and projects that affect their respective responsibilities.
What are its powers?

To draw up a propose to the Managing Bodies, Treasury General of the Social Security and the Social Security Public Accounts Department the management plans of the IT and telecommunications systems, to be later presented before the General Council of Information Technologies and Communications of the Social Security.

Proposing the creation, development and modification of information systems.

Evaluating, auditing and taking inventory of the current information systems and proposing modifications to these systems, in order to ensure that they are perfectly coordinated with the general operating plan.

Approving technical and methodological rules that guarantee uniformity, compatibility, interrelation and transferability of all current and future information systems, without prejudice to the responsibilities of the Sub-Secretariat in this area.

The creation, safekeeping and administration of the system's corporate information databases, as well as the security and confidentiality systems.

Maintaining and updating the telematics resources used for data transmission, as well as the corresponding IT systems.

Maintaining the resource inventory for all the information systems.

Purchase order reports for IT goods and services, records of changes to IT jobs relations and the training programmes for information and communications technologies.

All other responsibilities, which which it is entrusted, either now or in the future.
